Welcome to the 3rd annual N.C. CEO Forum. We are delighted to present another stellar lineup of speakers, including one of the world’s leading business authors, Jim Collins. We are also extremely grateful to our generous sponsors and speakers without whom this event would not even be possible.
Our number one goal is to help you learn at least one thing that you will put into practice to make a meaningful improvement in your business, and to accomplish that we’ve made some exciting enhancements to the program.
First, Jim Collins will share what he has learned over the years through his extensive research. Then our other speakers will use “story” to communicate what they’ve experienced and learned in the areas of Purpose, Process and People. And each speaker will provide a list of takeaways to help us retain the key points.
To stimulate more involvement from the audience we are providing an email address for each track (Purpose Process, People) so that anyone with a smart phone can send in a question during the speaker presentations. In the open-mike Q&A session at the end of each track a few of the wirelessly transmitted questions will be selected and presented to the speaker panel.
This year we’re placing even more emphasis on giving back which we consider integral to leading. We have two featured nonprofits –NC Arts in Action and Make a Wish Foundation of Eastern North Carolina – and three friends-of-the-forum nonprofits – The N.C. Center for Nonprofits, the CED and NC GreenPower. They are all worthy organizations that deserve our support. Also this year we’re holding a raffle to benefit the featured nonprofits and they in turn will entertain us with a couple of short music and dance interludes performed by some of their young beneficiaries.
Finally, we’re offsetting most of the carbon costs of the event through NC GreenPower and we’re continuing the tradition begun last year of providing a Ben & Jerry’s ice cream break … before noon!
This will be a spectacular day and for that we owe everyone a big thank you! What all of you have in common is the desire to learn and the courage to lead. Leaders are indeed learners.
Enjoy!
